By Popular Demand

I keep getting asked to post belly pics on the internet. I have to admit, I originally didn't want to because I look at myself and think, wow, I really do not look good pregnant.

But after some thought I decided, as much as I complain about how uncomfortable I am, or how I think I look, you can't beat the fact that in 6 1/2 weeks there will be a little baby here that I am completely responsible for.....and couldn't love more. It's the most amazing feeling when the little guy moves around, and I love the look on Tobin's face when he feels it. It's pretty cool.

Our good friend, and photographer Stephan (he has taken every photo of us: engagement, wedding and now maternity) of http://enlightenedimages.ca took these photos of us and I am so grateful. He does amazing work!

I promised Tobin I wouldn't post it on facebook....but this isn't facebook!

Shannon and Jeff are Married!

The warmth from all the guests could be felt the minute you walked into the church. This couple is well loved. Anyone who was at Shannon and Jeff's wedding was immediately welcomed into the family, and it didn't matter if it was the first time you'd met them.

Shannon and Jeff had a beautiful traditional wedding in Barrie. Shannon knew what she wanted, how she wanted it and how she was going to get it to turn out they way she dreamed. As a result she was not only a dream to work with, but her dream wedding went off without a hitch.

Shannon and Jeff are the kind of couple who you can feel the love radiate off them even before they touch each other. They didn't want kissing shots, and I don't think we needed them. You could tell they were crazy about each other just by looking!

I know this couple will have a long and happy marriage and I look forward to photographing them through the major milestones in their life together. Shannon, you promised I'd get the shots of your kids and I'm going to hold you to it! Thanks for allowing me to have so much fun while I was working.....I felt really guilty, by the way!

Every detail was taken care of and Shannon has the most impeccable taste, from the amazing red dresses to the prettiest bouquets I've ever seen!

Shannon was glowing! And her three bridesmaids were not only her best friends, but her family.

Beautiful bride.

Shannon's bouquet. I love it when a Bride goes all out for her bouquet.

This is one of my favourite shots of the day. I had a few minutes before the ceremony to capture a few of Jeff while whe was waiting for his Bride.

The whole gang!

The couple had this amazing car from 1939. The driver was so careful with the car, and it shows in the condition. It's in mint condition! What a great thing to have on your wedding day!

Champagne by the vintage car.

Shannon is an interior designer, so there were so many cool things in their home, including these amazing letters on her dresser.

And while I keep giving props to Shannon's sense of style, I have to give some to Jeff too. This amazing cake was his idea! I fell for it too....when I arrived I nearly had a heart attack thinking someone had already got at the cake.

The coolest centrepieces I've ever seen.

The BEST idea for the midnight snack. Couldn't get enough of this idea...and I think it was another one of Jeff's ideas. A huge hit!

Sarita the Beauty

It's a pretty wonderful thing when you find people you just totally click with. It's a completely magical thing when you can become friends with these people and have a really great working relationship. That's what it's like for with John and Amanda at Studio Shiik. Not only are they so much fun, but they are true masters at hair and make-up. I don't think my hair has ever looked so good.

Just this week their amazing website launched. http://studioshiik.ca and they needed a few more photos for their gallery. I've taken some of the photos, but this is the first time I did the beauty shots.

Sarita is a beautiful girl with Portugese heritage.....she's a stunner! Sarita has the most amazing head of hair and the biggest curls that make me salivate with jealousy!

Here are a few shots of Sarita you might see on the website.

Studio Shiik is online!

I work with, and have the priviledge of calling the most amazing stylists friends. John and Amanda of Studio Shiik now have a website and I'm going to tell everyone to check them out.

Since meeting these two a few years ago, I ALWAYS get compliments on my hair style and I never got that before. If you're looking for a good stylist, check them out, you won't be disappointed.....and tell them I sent you.

They are finally on the web! http://studioshiik.ca They do a lot of photo shoots both with me and other photographers in the area, so their work is always fashion forward and very creative.

Here are some examples of their work, and you definitely should check out the website!

My Sister's Getting Married!

In just a couple of months my little sister is about to tie the knot! I actually can't believe it, because in a way, I still feel like we're the bratty girls who pulled each other's hair and stole each other's clothes way back when.

Amanda has found her soulmaate in Al and they are going to be married on October 3. So, my other little sister and I set out to make their engagement photos great. Ashly is a hairstylist and did Amanda's hair and we went off-roading near Cookstown to this amazing abandoned barn. Amazing, but kind of scary too. Lots of dead birds, creepy things and even rusty nails that we stepped on. That kind of hurt (but didn't break the skin, so relax family members who are reading this!).

I think it was a perfect back drop, plus the trail that has become a favourite to us for photos....and to the dogs who found the creek totally fun!

Here are a few shots from the shoot.

The above shots were completely Ashly's idea.....and she has a good eye!

Baby Mania

So, reality has finally set in. I mean really set in. It wasn't enough that my belly has grown to the size of a beach ball....it is the actual time left in this pregnancy that has me freaked out. In 8 weeks I will have (hopefully) a little baby. That's CRAZY!

While I'm excited, and Tobin is excited times 10, we're both ready for this baby to enter the world. But I have to admit I'm a little terrified. I think everyone goes through that, don't they?

Will I be a good mother? I can't operate on little sleep as it, how can I handle a little baby with no sleep? Will I know what I'm doing? All these crazy thoughts go through my head.

I know I'm blessed to have the greatest husband in the world at my side, and a family that is super-supportive. That eases all my craziness....for now.

Because over the past year I have photographed so many beautiful babies, I thought I would post some of my favourites. And in a few weeks....we can add a new one to blog!

Taking Chances

The other day I had the best conversation with my newest Bride Kimberlee who is getting married next August at the fabulous Tangle Creek Golf Course.

Not only did I make an immediate friend in this bubbly, happy bride-to-be, but I got the most incredible boost of confidence.....what she said to me put everything into context for me and made me incredibly humble.

Kimberlee had a hard time with another photographer who ridiculed her for not going with him and going with a photographer with less experience. She said she was following her gut when she hired me for the wedding....and that when she got out of college people took a chance on her so she was taking a chance on me.

Bam! No one ever put it like that before. I'm following my heart and doing what I'm absolutely in love with doing, but I never thought about it like that: people are giving me a chance.

For all the Brides, Grooms, families and little babies who allowed me to take your photos over the past two and a half years, please know it is an HONOUR. Thank you for taking a chance on me. And for my photography mentors, a huge thank you goes out to you: http://rowellphoto.com/ , http://enlightenedimages.ca/ ,

Thank you for teaching me, coaching me and helping this little girl out with big dreams.

And Kimberlee!!!! You're wedding is going to ROCK! I promise you that.

Shannon and Jeff are Married! Teaser!

One thing I absolutely love is a couple that is crazy about each other and are just goofy. Shannon and Jeff are head over heels in love with each other, but I was told almost a year ago: "we're not the kissy type." And I like that! I really like it when the love radiates off a couple when they're just around each other and not even touching each other.

Shannon and Jeff's wedding was gorgeous. It was full of love and emotion and lots of fun. Both of their families know how to have a good time!

Shannon needs to go into the Hall of Fame for Brides. She was organized, relaxed and just plain cool. Her dream day was a dream to shoot thanks to her thoughtfulness and attention to detail!

Here's a couple of shots from the fabulous wedding this past weekend.
