Karinna and Curtis are getting married

In honour of two of my best friends getting married THIS SATURDAY,  I thought I should dedicate a blog post to them.

It was eight years in the making and we are finally going to see this amazing couple exchange their vows and have the party of the decade.  Karinna and Curtis are truly the loves of their loves. They ooze coolness, athleticism, kindness, fun, love, warmth. I can go on and on. But ever since I met these two they have been so in sync.  It feels like the years have passed by so quickly, yet that they have been together forever. It's such a great thing to see in a couple.

The thing that strikes me most about their wedding isn't just the big dress, the glamorous party or any of that. It's that I feel like they are so at ease with the process because they are excited to be married. It's not about the wedding, it's about the marriage for them. I love that.  I've said before I love love, and that says it all right there:  "Marriage." That's what it's all about, and it's the most romantic thing in the world.

Although, it's about fun too...and seeing Curtis cry.  I bet $20 he cries like a baby when Karinna walks down the aisle.  I'll let you know how it goes!

Tobin, Cooper and I are all honoured to be a part of their big day and I can't wait for it.

Good luck to the greatest couple.

Cake Smash! Happy Birthday Paityn

When it comes to photographing kids, my favourite is hands down the cake smash sessions.  Most of the time for their first birthday, it's their first time tasting sugar.  Once they get their chubby little hand in the cake, and get the first taste of the icing, it's so funny to see their reaction.

Paityn came dressed as a little princess for her first birthday photos. Complete with a tutu and pearls.  My heart melted!  Her mom and dad bought a special cake and we just let her do her thing.  So much fun!  I have to say, she was a lot neater than Cooper was when I did his cake smash photos.  Paityn is definitely girl!

Happy birthday Princess Paityn!

Jacqui and Lee are getting married!

Jacqui and Lee remind me of my husband and me when we were engaged. We were so excited to have found each other and to begin our lives together. Shooting their session took me back to how we were when our photographer took us to the park to shoot our photos.  I loved it.

Jacqui and Lee are so in love you can't help but smile.  They are playful, affectionate and they never stop smiling and laughing. These two were like two lovebird models when we shot their engagement photos at Sunnidale Park last fall.  Anything we decided to do they jumped at it with so much energy.  A photographer's dream!

They are getting married this fall and I couldn't be more honoured to be shooting their big day.  I know it will be filled with love, laughter and smiles.

And baby makes four

Emily, Dylan and their furbaby Oso are having a baby any time now.

A few weeks ago I went to Huntsville to meet them and take their photos. Emily is quite possibly the most beautiful mom-to-be I've ever seen. I'd show you pictures, but Emily wanted a boudoir-style photo shoot, which I loved!  She totally embraced being pregnant and completely rocked it.

I wanted to share with you this shot, which was Emily's idea. Oso is such a huge part of their lives that they wanted him included.  He's going to have a little brother or sister soon.  I love this picture so much!

Can't wait to meet the bundle of joy!

Joceline and Ryan's Lafontaine Wedding

The wedding of Joceline and Ryan was pretty special for me, not only because the bride is one of my best friend's cousins, but because it was such a beautiful, laid back affair.

Joceline's family is a farming family who have chickens as pets.  They seriously come when you call them. I loved it!  I loved that we posed with the chickens and the combines.  It was so fun.  Not to mention, a special trip to their neighbour's wine cellar.  Beautiful.

The reception was at Discovery Harbour, which is easily one of my favourite venues now because of the feel of the historic place, but also the incredible sunset over Georgian Bay.

Joceline and Ryan are one of those couples you are just so relaxed to be around, and I love that in a couple.  Here's to many relaxed, loving years to come!

New Year, New blog look, NEW WEBSITE!

I am so excited to share with you my new website.  Staying true to my style, it's taken baby steps to get to this point.  While I've taken my photography career in very small steps, I'm ready to take a big leap in 2012.  I'm ready to follow my passion and truly commit by launching my website.  I'm so proud of it.

What makes me most proud of this site, is the dozens of people it took to create it. I mean, if you look at all the photos of all the families, babies and couples...and even animals, they have all helped me by trusting me!  I can't believe how blessed I am to have such support from everyone.

Thank you so much!

Check it out, and let me know what you think!

Here's to 2012!
