The Morrison Cuties

Where have I been???? Holy Cow I've been away for awhile! I just got swept away in life and forgot all about the blog for second. I'm back, and I have some cuties to show you!

It was a really great thing to experience old high school friends who have grown up and started a family of their own. It was so surreal, and I kept saying to myself, yep, you're an adult now. The Circle of Life is going on. It is truly amazing.

That was Dana and Dave. We went to high school together over a decade ago. Gulp! 12 years ago to be exact. They are both teachers and wonderful parents to 2 year old Lara and 3 month old Owen. They are adorable. If you ever want to know what a happy family looks like, check out these guys. Parenthood looks very, very good on them.

I was thrilled to be able to photograph the family, but I always get nervous, because Dana is an accomplished photographer herself. I had a blast with these guys on their Mother's Day shoot and can't wait to see the little ones when they're older. They are great kids.

Love this shot of Lara loving her Mom
Such a good big sister
Owen's Dad, Dave is a big Leafs Fan.....can you tell?

The smile that just melts your heart!

The whole gang. Thanks for a great day guys!!

Into the Wild

I can't tell you the first time this idea popped into my mind: wouldn't it be a good idea to photograph animal's fur and hang it in my home? Seriously, who thinks that? Secondly, who goes to the zoo with a zoom lens on her camera and really only gets shots of the animals' fur?

That weirdo would be me. I wanted these shots in my house so badly. Now that our baby's nursery is in a jungle theme, I thought it would be cool to put them on canvas and hang them. That's my thought....Tobin's could be entire different!

My gracious friends at the Elmvale Jungle Zoo allowed me to snap at my leisure as kids and parents ran around me. I loved it!

Not only did I get the shots I needed, but I was able to see some pretty amazing animals who all look so content and happy.

Here are a few shots, and most of them I played around with photoshop to see what kind of effect I could get.

Stacie + Chris Sitting in a Tree.....

Right from the first email I received from Stacie a couple of months back, I knew I would like her. She was bubbling over with enthusiasm and energy. I was right.

Stacie and her boyfriend Chris made the trek from Lindsay (over an hour away) in a thunderstorm to have their photos taken. Thank the Lord the rain let up just long enough for us to walk around downtown Barrie and take these shots.

When the sky started looking pretty black, we headed into the MacLaren Art Centre to finish the shoot. Even though Mother Nature tested us, we got it done and they look great!

Chris and Stacie are so cute together and they were having so much fun goofing off. I had way too much fun with them. I hope to see them again soon.

Stacie is a photographer as well, and I was so honoured she asked L'il Ole me to take her pictures. Check out her stuff at http://www.staciefosterphotography.com/

Enjoy!!

A good example of how a mistake can make a great image. My flash didn't go off, and thankfully Stacie suggested we keep it. I'm glad we did.

I LOVE Stacie's cool umbrella. I have to get one!

I love how Chris is looking at her. They are really in love.

Stacie + Chris Teaser!

Don't you just love a couple who laughs together, acts like goofs together, yet you can tell the whole time just how madly in love with each other they are? That's Stacie and Chris! They were the best!

Gentlemen, you can learn a few things from Chris....he does anything you ask of him. He never thought anything I asked him to do was silly (although, secretly I thought it was). These two are a blast.

Stacie is a photographer herself, so I was so honoured when she emailed me months ago to set up the shoot. They made the trek from Lindsay in a thunderstorm just for the shoot and thank God Mother Nature allowed us a good 40 minutes without rain so we could capture some great outdoor shots.

I'll post more later, I promise. But for now, enjoy one of my favourite shots from the shoot.

Little Breanna!

It's been too long since I took photos of our niece Breanna. She's already 15 months! Time flies! She's toddling around like a champ.

Tobin and I went to Stayner this week and decided to do an impromptu mini photo session with little Breanna because we don't remember the last time we took her photos. It must have been Christmas!

This little girl has stolen the heart of everyone who has met her. She's always with a smile on her face and it's very rare to see her upset. She's definitely the sunshine in our family.

Enjoy these photos of our little Breanna.

Finding a Cure....the Photo Shoot

This is probably the shoot that I am most proud of. It's the cause. It's the images themselves. It's this one woman who was told for the fourth time she has breast cancer. I couldn't imagine going through that so many times.

It seems Brittany has had it with the cancer coming back to make her grandmother sick year after year that she, her mother and a group of other women are doing something about it.

The team is taking part in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer, but before they can take part in the long walk, they have to raise thousands of dollars. On May 9 the team is holding a dinner and auction in hopes to raise a lot of money for Breast Cancer research. Britt wanted to do some photos to bring the message home. I think she did.

One day there will be a cure

Finding a Cure....

I am so excited to share these photos with you. My cousin is doing an amazing thing in the name of her grandmother who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer for the fourth time. Yep, you read that right.....4th time!!!!

She is raising money for breast cancer research and asked if I would take some photos of her for her big fundraising dinner.

These are only a couple of the many we took, and I'll be sure to show you all the rest once they're ready.

If you could help with the cause, it would be greatly appreciated.
